About us

We are ARAKNE, a queer collective based in Vienna—made up of two artists who weave their individual styles together to create new and unexpected worlds.

Our fashion combines innovative design with wearability. We aim to break away from uniform everyday aesthetics and create clothing that is creative, surprising, and still comfortable.

Sustainability is central to our work. Every piece is handmade in Vienna using deadstock fabrics or carefully selected second-hand materials, conserving resources and giving existing materials a new life.

Craftsmanship is more than a technique to us—it is our language. With every piece, we want to show that fashion can be both beautiful and meaningful.

Our offering ranges from ready-to-wear and made-to-measure couture to a rental service, making fashion more durable and accessible.

Name Origin

The name ARAKNE comes from an ancient Greek legend.

Arachne was a weaver whose skill was so refined and precise that she dared to challenge Athena, the goddess of weaving, to a contest.

Her mastery was so extraordinary that she was transformed into a spider—a symbol of patience, skill, and endurance to this day.

This story inspires us. Like Arachne, we put all our craftsmanship and passion into every piece.

At ARAKNE, it’s about weaving creativity and quality together—and letting something new emerge.
